Weather: Snow Forecast in the Pyrenees from Wednesday Evening, the First Snowflakes Expected in the Plains

After the arrival of the first cold snap across France, snowfall is expected in the mountain ranges, sometimes at low altitude. Snowflakes could also fall in several departments in the plains, rather to the north
After a particularly mild October, the cold has arrived throughout the country. And the first snowflakes are expected in the mountain ranges, in particular in the Pyrenees on the evening of Wednesday, November 19. Snowfall is also expected to affect the departments from Hauts-de-France to the Massif Central, via the Paris basin, Brittany and Normandy.
The snowy Pyrenees
Good news for the ski resorts of the Pyrenees. Les Angles and Luz Ardiden open their doors on the weekend of November 28, while most ski areas will begin their season in early December. Snowfall, from an altitude of 1,000 meters, is expected to continue at least until the beginning of next week according to forecasts Météo-france.

Snow is also expected in the plains. 25 departments were placed on yellow alert for snow and ice by Météo-France this Wednesday. Ain, Aisne, Ardennes, Aveyron, Cantal, Corrèze, Creuse, Loire, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Nord, Oise, Orne, Pas-de-Calais, Puy-de-Dôme, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Somme, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, val-de-marne and Val-d’Oise are concerned.

Snowfall could intensify as early as Thursday on this axis. And in southern Aquitaine and the Pyrenees, snow is not expected to fall below 700 meters above sea level.
