On the Ring Road of Caen, the Radar of the Calix Viaduct Destroyed by a Fire

The radar of the Calix viaduct located on the ring road of Caen, in the direction of Cherbourg Paris, was destroyed by a fire on the night of Friday 28 to Saturday 29 December 2018.

The radar of the Calix viaduct, in Caen (Calvados) , is definitely out of order. He was burned on the night of Friday 28th to Saturday 29th December 2018. Like all the radars of the agglomeration of Caen, he was inactive since the first days of the mobilization of the yellow vests. Rubalise covered it entirely like paint concealing other radars.

The authors risk a maximum of 7 years in prison

Caen is not an exception. In France, 800 radars are now inactive, or 20% of the national park. The perpetrators of these acts of vandalism are exposed to heavy penalties ranging from € 3,750 to € 100,000 fine and up to 7 years in prison for acts of destruction committed in meetings (Article 221-1 of the Penal Code).

The authors of the Calix viaduct radar fire have not been arrested to date.

An automatic radar costs 60,000 to 80,000 euros and 100,000 to 200,000 euros for a sectional radar.
