The video has already been viewed nearly 200,000 times on Twitter. Shocking images of a man tearing the head of a cockerel alive with his teeth have sparked a wave of indignation on social networks. The scene, which lasts seven seconds, would have taken place in a hotel in the town of Hasparren in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, after a pelota championship in late June.
The Brigitte Bardot Foundation, which posted these images Friday on social networks, announced its intention to file a complaint.

The representative of the animal protection association explains that he sent “all the information gathered in Paris, to the legal service of the foundation” who “seized our law firm”. The latter “will file a complaint in the Basque Country shortly,” he says, referring to an “act of cruelty to an animal.”
If the complaint of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation is successful, the Basque pelote champion risks up to 30,000 euros in fines and 2 years in prison.
Joined by Mediabask, Bixente Larralde would not have liked to react to the filing of a complaint against him. He said, however, “to be aware of his bad gesture”.
