Protester seriously inkured in yellow vests protest in Paris

A protester was seriously wounded in Act XIII of the yellow vests in Paris. His hand was torn off as the procession was in front of the National Assembly.

The Yellow Vests have begun their act XIII  Saturday 9th February, 2018. According to the first figures given by the Ministry of the Interior, 12 100 demonstrators were gathered at 2pm throughout France.

Violent clashes erupted in Paris. A demonstrator had his hand torn off in the middle of the day, while the procession was in front of the National Assembly, reports Le Monde .

An AFP journalist was present at the time of the events.

The police prefecture confirms that a    hand-wounded protester” was taken care of by firefighters.

According to a witness of the scene, it would be a  ” grenade”  launched by the forces of the order. The victim “took pictures of people pushing the palisades of the National Assembly,” said the 21-year-old, including AFP was able to view the images.

The cause of his injury remains unknown for the moment.

Mobilization in the regions

In the west of the country, the mobilization continues. In Rouen , the Yellow Vests organised two rallies at 10 am and 2pm. A few throws of projectiles and tear gas but for now, the mobilisation takes place in the calm


According to our colleagues of Liberty , between 3000 and 4000 people parade through the streets of Caen. Some of them have invaded the ring road.


At La Roche-sur-Yon , the movement became tense this afternoon.

On the side of Toulouse , there are thousands of demonstrators at midday .
