Benoît Hamon has largely won against Manuel Valls on Sunday in the second round of the Socialist primary and will be the PS candidate in the presidential election. According to the High Authority of the primary, the former Minister of Education gets 58.65%, against 41.35% for the former Prime Minister, on 60% of bare offices.
The polls have spoken. Benoît Hamon has largely prevailed this Sunday 29th January in the second round of the primary elections for the Socialists, with more than 58.6% of the vote according to a partial count, facing Manuel Valls.
The latter congratulated “warmly” Sunday his opponent, who is “now the candidate from our political family” and that it “belongs to carry out the noble mission of gathering” , according to former Prime Minister.
Benoît Hamon, he said: “Our differences will not be intractable when it comes to face our real opponents” . He also said he would speak on Monday with Yannick Jadot, EELV candidate, and Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
