Google announced Tuesday that the launch of its Stadia streaming video game platform will take place on November 19th. Entering the online video gaming market, the search engine giant intends to upset the market dominated by the major players of game consoles like Sony and Microsoft, allowing users to enjoy their games, in optimal quality. and on any medium – computer, smart TV, smartphone – passing from one to the other.

“You’ll be able to play anywhere, on your TV, on your computer, and even on your (smartphone) Pixel, which will be the first phone to be compatible with Stadia when it’s launched,” detailed Rick Osterloh, who runs the hardware business at Google, at an event in New York.


Thirty games

Google’s offer will include a catalogue of thirty games at launch with several subscription options. An offer available for pre-order is already available on the online store of Google for 129 euros. At this price, the player gets a three-month subscription, a Chromecast Ultra device to connect to a screen, and a controller.

Two other offers will be available after the launch of the platform, one to 9.99 euros per month called “Stadia Pro”, and a basic offer expected in 2020, of which few details have been given. Stadia will be available in 14 countries, including France.
