A man deliberately drove his car this Saturday 21st September 21 into the entrance of the Grand Mosque of Colmar. There was no casualty, except himself.
A man has intentionally driven his car into the entrance to the Grand Mosque of Colmar (Haut-Rhin) this Saturday 21st September 2019.
It was around 8 pm when the facts occurred. According to the prosecutor of Colmar, questioned by AFP, some people were in the mosque at that time.
His gesture did not hurt anyone except himself.
The individual was promptly arrested by the police and should be examined by a psychiatrist.
An investigation is underway.
According to the newspaper L’Alsace, deminers have examined the car “which contained no explosive”.
The Regional Council of the Muslim Faith (CRCM) of Alsace and the Council of imams and religious leaders of Alsace (CICRA) reacted in a statement, condemning ” this unspeakable act against a place of worship”.
