Accident near Nantes: A Father killed, Two Children in Serious Condition

A driver died at the scene of the accident on the RD751, at Port-Saint-Père

A man was killed on Wednesday night in a road accident involving three cars on the RD751, at Port-Saint-Père (Loire-Atlantique).

The frontal collision between two cars, occurred around 4.20pm on Wednesday 10th May, on the RD751, at the entrance to Port-Saint-Père, on the road from Nantes to Pornic. The accident occurred near the establishment of the l’Auberge du Pays de Retz.

The driver of one of the three vehicles involved died.

His two children, ages 7 and 12 years, car passengers were transferred in serious condition at University Hospital of Nantes. His wife and one of his other sons, aged 14, were also slightly injured.

The family is from Arthon-en-Retz. The father was 38 years old, his wife two years younger. They drove aboard a Peugeot 106 in the direction Pornic to Nantes.

The driver, who was coming in front, was injured slightly. In all, seven people are involved.

A detour has been established. The road is cut off to traffic in both directions.
