Risk of Poisoning: Baby Milk Urgently Recalled by Nestlé Throughout France

ALERT: Baby milk, sold in supermarkets, online and pharmacies, can cause fever, diarrhea and vomiting in young people
A recall procedure has just been launched by Nestlé at the national level after the marketing of infant milk potentially contaminated with “bacillus cereus”. Jars of Optipro Relais from the Guigoz brand have been sold in recent weeks in pharmacies, drugstores and in many supermarkets such as Carrefour, Match, Auchan, Leclerc, System U or Intermarché. The product has even been offered by online platforms like Amazon.
Guigoz Optipro Relais 1 is intended for babies aged 0 to 6 months. This is a powder to mix with water, as a relay or in addition to breastfeeding. The 800 g boxes affected by the recall have batch number 52820346AB and have GTIN code 7613038317922.

Fever, diarrhea, vomiting…
If contaminated, milk can make your baby sick. “Foodborne illnesses caused by Bacillus cereus result in diarrhea often accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea and sometimes fever”, indicates the sheet published on Rappel Conso. “These symptoms may be worsened in sensitive or immunocompromised people”.
It is therefore advisable to no longer use Guigoz powder and to contact consumer service on 0800.100.409. Vouchers will be offered as compensation. “Food safety and product quality are an absolute priority, assure Nestlé laboratories. If you suspect health problems related to the consumption of this product, contact your healthcare professional.
