After a call to strike , launched by unions to protest against job cuts, traffic is disrupted in the Center-Loire Valley , said SNCF , Wednesday morning. About twenty trains, including a dozen between Paris and Orleans, have been removed.

The unions intend to protest against the removal of a third of the ticket offices at the train station of Tours, but also posts called “stopover” which give the signal of departure of a train. If the TGV traffic is not impacted by this strike, a thousand people are affected by this disturbance, says the SNCF . Every day, nearly 70,000 people use the SNCF lines in the region.

“No one will be left behind”

Before the opening of the works council where these announcements were to be made, a hundred railway workers gathered in front of the regional management to express their concern at the multiplication of reforms . “You have the chance to benefit from railway workers trained in the spirit of public service, do not ruin everything,” said Sebastien Dugou, regional secretary of the CGT.

“Do not go too far,” said Louis Patrick Vincinaux, FO regional secretary, regional officials came to the EC. “Nobody will be left out,” assured Stéphane Coursier, regional director. The strike must end Thursday morning.
