These were Aude, Bouches-du-Rhone, Corse-du-Sud, Haute-Corse, Côte-d’Or, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Saône-et- Loire, Var, Territoire-de-Belfort, Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Drôme, Gard, Hérault, Isère, Pyrénées-Orientales, Rhône and Vaucluse are concerned.

Wednesday, “the temperatures, often stationary north, will still slightly increase in the south,” says Météo France. From Thursday, the heat will be even more pronounced and will reach other regions.

“We should reach or even exceed 40 degrees in places in the south,” warns Météo France.
“Only the northwestern border of the Hexagon should maintain maximum temperatures below 35 degrees. The heat wave should last at least until early next week.”
July 2018 is the third warmest July since 1900, after July 2006 and July 1983, according to Météo France.
