Meteo France has placed 13 departments located on an axis from the central Pyrenees to Auvergne on orange alert because of a risk of thunderstorms accompanied by heavy hail tonight and tomorrow night.
Some storms currently of a low intensity burst of Aquitaine, in a chaotic sky, with some rain showers. The first showers quickly cover the Limousin in the coming hours remaining moderate. The episode causing alertness is expected in the early evening with thunderstorms developing over the western Pyrenees and the southern Aquitane.
These storms will multiply and become strong for some, with hail, heavy rain and locally intensities of winds can reach 70 to 80 km/h.
Expect to hourly totals or sub-zones 10 to 20 mm and a layer of water locally reaching 40 to 50 mm in a few hours on the Massif Central in particular by the end of the episode. The electrical activity may be temporarily very strong.
13 departments placed in amber alert are: Allier (03), Aveyron (12), Cantal (15),Corrèze (19), Dordogne (24) Gers (32), Loire (42), Haute-Loire (43) , Lot (46) Lot-et-Garonne (47), Puy-de-Dôme (63) Hautes-Pyrénées (65) and Tarn-et-Garonne (82).
