Sébastien Lecornu announces the Creation of a “France Santé” Network to Facilitate Access to Care

Sébastien Lecornu went to Mâcon (Saône-et-Loire) this Saturday 13th September 2025. A first trip as Prime Minister dedicated to the health and “daily life” of the French.

Barely four days after his appointment, the new Prime Minister went to Mâcon (Saône-et-Loire) this Saturday, meeting the French for whom he still remains largely unknown. Visiting a health center in Saône-et-Loire, he focused this first trip on the health and daily lives of the French.

The Prime Minister announced the creation of a “France Santé” network which will be included in the draft state and social security budgets for 2026. The objective, “it means, by 2027, offering a range of local care in each living area, that is to say less than 30 minutes’ drive from your home”. It targets 5,000 “France Santé” houses in 2027, which will be designed and modeled on “France Services” which offer a one-stop shop for various administrative procedures.

Exchanges off camera

Welcomed by local elected officials, this former local elected official first spoke at length with them. He was accompanied by the Minister of Labor and Health Catherine Vautrin, and the Minister of Health and Access to Care Yannick Neuder. The Prime Minister asked journalists to step aside for an exchange away from the cameras to be able to discuss freely with elected officials and local managers of healthcare structures.

Around 12:30 p.m., he spoke again in front of the camera, still surrounded by elected officials and local officials. “We all know the political and budgetary situation: many subjects will be covered by the [2027] presidential election”, began Sébastien Lecornu, excluding however subjects concerning health, the reason for his trip today. “I will receive the Order of Physicians, and all the associations which represent the professions” starting next week, he also promised, to try to reduce mistrust between citizens and health professionals. He also expressed the wish to decentralize the field of health, and to give more power to local teams.

The Prime Minister has commented very little on the national political situation. He barely valued it “local consensus”, who “can be a lesson for all of us nationally”“It could be a method for the future, I won’t say more”, said the minister. Sébastien Lecornu continues his consultations with a view to forming a government, in a France in political impasse.
