Brittany: Two New Medical TGVs will Transfer 48 Patients from Paris to Brittany

On Sunday, April 5, 2020, two new health trains will leave from Paris to transfer 48 coronavirus patients to hospitals in Brittany.

On Sunday 5th April 2020, two new health TGV trains will leave from Paris to transfer 48, coronavirus patients, to hospitals in Brittany.

Of medicalized TGV has transported 36 patients Coronavirus Covid-19 trial in serious condition Wednesday 1st April 2020 from Paris to Brittany. These were distributed among the hospitals of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor) and Brest (Finistère).


Two additional sanitary trains will be chartered on Sunday 5th April from Montparnasse station with 48 other patients on board. A first will serve Rennes then the south of Brittany, Lorient and Quimper. The second will also pass through Rennes before going to  Saint-Brieuc and Brest.

Up to 364 intensive care beds throughout Brittany

In an interview with our colleagues from Ouest-France , the prefect of Brittany Michèle Kirry indicates that:

“We have 164 intensive care beds in the region and these capacities can increase by around 200 beds. Today half of the beds are occupied. This is the reason why we can welcome French men and women in serious condition from other regions to our hospitals.”
