To project itself towards the heyday, MINI unveils a particularly exclusive livery of its convertible, the Cabrio Sidewalk and its original design. Price from 32,000 €.
Body colour, hood design, rim style, decorative inserts and interior fittings have been specially developed for the Sidewalk finish and give the MINI Cabrio a unique charisma. The combination of expressive exterior design, a stylish interior atmosphere and kart-like driving sensations (characteristics of the British brand’s models) offers a unique open-air experience.
The name Sidewalk appeared for the first time on the first generation of MINI Cabrio and quickly rose to the rank of a cult model.
An exclusive body colour
The Sidewalk series differs from other models in the range thanks to an additional touch of exclusivity: the Deep Laguna body colour. Note that other traditional colours are also available.
The sporty character of the model is underlined by specially developed hood strips with contours of a contrasting colour. The hulls of the exterior mirrors are, for their part, always painted in the colour of the bodywork.
An automatic “arrow” top
The hood has a very graphic design with arrows, specially developed for this finish and woven according to MINI Yours quality standards. It can be opened or closed in 18 seconds fully automatically and quietly.
The 17-inch two-tone light-alloy wheels are also specific to this finish. And to identify the MINI Cabrio Sidewalk at a glance, the side vents have the name “Sidewalk”.
An incomparable leather atmosphere
This model also has door sills in brushed aluminium with the inscription “Sidewalk”. Onboard, the exclusive leather seats offer the particularity of combining anthracite leather surfaces with contrasting stitching in “Petrol” and “Energetic Yellow” colours. The floor mats feature dark “Petrol” colour contours and matching “Energetic Yellow” stitching. The ellipsoidal door frame is harmoniously decorated in the same “Petrol” shade while the sports leather steering wheel features contrast stitching and a “Sidewalk” inscription.
Three petrol engines
The One Cabrio Sidewalk is equipped with a 3-cylinder 1.5-litre 102 hp engine (€ 32,000). The Cooper Cabrio Sidewalk is also powered by a 3-cylinder 1.5-litre engine with 136 hp (€ 33,700). The Cooper S Cabrio Sidewalk has a 4-cylinder 192 hp engine (€ 37,500).
All engines are combined as standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox. An optional 7-speed double-clutch Steptronic transmission is available on the Cooper and Cooper S. The latter can also be fitted with a 7-speed double-clutch Steptronic Sport transmission, which allows even more gear changes faster and controllable using paddles on the steering wheel.
