A body found in the Loire in Nantes on Monday afternoon

The divers of the Firefighters found a body floating on the Loire on Monday 23rd October, mid-afternoon in Nantes.

A body was recovered Monday in the Loire, between 4pm and 4.30pm, on the side of Ernest Renaud quay, not far from Belem, in Nantes. Divers firefighters were practising on their dinghy when they made the gruesome discovery.

The body was handed over to the police forensic identification service.

In the night from Tuesday 17th to Wednesday 18th October, a man who could be aged between 20 and 25 years, drowned in the Loire, Nantes. Bystanders and police had watched helplessly to his drowning. The young man had not been found.

The identification of the body will know if it is this young man tragically died.
