Presidential Election Results 2017 – Rennes

Emmanuel Macron has topped the first round of the presidential election in Rennes. The candidate (En Marche) was ahead of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (La France insoumise) with 31.86% against 25.86% .These two candidates came top of the first round of the presidential election will face off in the polls held this Sunday, May 7 François Fillon (Republicans) came in 3rd place with 16.53%. Follow Benoît Hamon (Socialist Party) with 13.82%; Marine Le Pen (Front National) with 6.70%; Mr. Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (Débout of France) with 2.37%; Mr. Philippe Poutou (New Anti-capitalist Party) with 0.97%; Mr. François Asselineau (Popular Republican Union) with 0.68%; Nathalie Arthaud (LO) with 0.55%; Jean Lassalle (Defense territories) with 0.49%; and Jacques Cheminade (Solidarity and Progress) with 0.16%. These results are only valid for this county.
Rennes, a City and capital of Brittany, had 208,033 inhabitants in 2011 against 180,943 inhabitants in 1968 (source: INSEE). In terms of employment, the town is marked by an unemployment rate of 14.8% for the national average of 9.9% in the third quarter of 2016 according to INSEE.
