Two hunters have been killed in seperate hunting accidents in the Midi-Pyrenees

A dark weekend in Midi-Pyrenees, where two people were killed during hunting trips. On Saturday afternoon near to Illartien, in Ariege, a 38-year-old hunter was killed by a bullet to the head during a battered boar, according to France 3 Sud.  Sunday morning, a similar accident occurred in Génébrières in the Tarn-et-Garonne, where a 68 year old man was shot in the head.

It is not known yet the circumstances of the accident in Ariege. The hunter who fired the shot, is very shocked by this tragedy and is being questioned by the gendarmes who placed him in custody on Saturday night for manslaughter. The victim was from the Bellongue Valley.

On Sunday morning, another tragedy occurred around 8.30 am, at Génébrières where a hunter of 68 years old died after being shot. The accident occurred when they were attacked by a boar. According to first reports, one of the hunters had mishandled his weapon, hitting the sixty year old in the head. The victim died on the spot. The police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of this hunting accident.
