ROAD ACCIDENT: They ran through a red light
Two boys aged 18 and 19 were seriously injured in an accident on Monday evening at around 9pm, in Roumazières. The Mayor of Lessac, Eric Pineau, traveling on the RN 141 in a C4 Picasso. At the intersection of Rue de la Paix, the lights had just turned to green, when as he moved off, a scooter came from the right running through the red light and violently crashed into the car on the right side, breaking windows and the windscreen.
The two young boys who were traveling on the scooter were seriously injured. Supported locally by the fire brigade of Roumazières and Saint-Claud and the SMUR of Confolens, they were transported to the University Hospital of Poitiers. Their condition is worrying, but their prognosis is apparently not known yet.
According to the first witnesses, the young scooter riders were pursued by other young people, also on scooter, to whom they had just stolen mobile phones. Montemboeuf of the gendarmes were on site and an investigation was opened. The driver of the car, Eric Pineau, was not injured.
