A smaller protest than previous demonstrations at Vannes against the Labour Law

Saturday morning in Vannes, the protest against the labour law has not attracted as many people as the previous times.

200 participants according to police, 400 according to organizers and disturbances to traffic at the time of the market on Saturday morning in the streets of Vannes.  Whatever the actual numbers, there is one certainty: the protest against the labour law is not as mobilized as the previous times, especially among young, which wasn’t as well represented.  As agreed besides trade union leaders of the CGT and Force Ouvrière, whose members marched separately in the procession, which took a lot of time to march from the port to the prefecture, via the Hotel de Ville.

Holiday and exams

“We are a Saturday and in addition to it being a vacation time, as well as young people are already beginning to prepare for their exams” , says Jean-Pierre Rouet, deputy secretary of the departmental union CGT. “the mobilization will without doubt be stronger on the 28th April with a joint union call for action, because the fight will continue.”  For Pascal Lecadre, representative of the FO union in Vannes, “with many of these strikes leap frogging or repeating, it doesn’t have the same impact as the important mobilization.  It might be a general strike that is needed to attract more. ” But all agreed to chant: ” We demand the withdrawal of the law, no possible amendment. “
