A car of the Gendarmerie, was under attack this morning at the town of Notre-Dame-des-Landes,”probably by a group of anti airport protestors” said the gendarmerie of the Pays de la Loire. The Gendarmes were present to assist and protect the safety of the hussiers, who are similar to baliffs, who were issuing eviction notices to protestors on the land for the link to the controversial planned airport.
“An unidentified object thrown by arsonist”
Several hooded people, some armed with baseball bats, arrived at the scene in a van. One of them threw “an unidentified incendiary object” into the van and vehicle windows were broken. A gendarme was shot at and hit by an air pellet but was not injured. An investigation is underway to identify and challenge those responsible for these protests.
