Gusts of more than 100 km/h are expected on the coast with the approach of storm Miguel. The Vendée is placed on orange alert
Météo France announces a major disturbance in the west of France from the night of Thursday 6 to Friday 7 June 2019 and confirms the arrival of the storm called Miguel by the Spanish meteorological services. Storm Miguel should be accompanied by strong gusts of wind as well as thunderstorms.
Vendée in orange according to the Weather Channel
The Pays de la Loire and Poitou-Charentes will be particularly affected. Some gusts up to 100 to 120 km/h are expected in the morning, especially on the coast of Vendée and Loire-Atlantique.
Meteo France and the Weather Channel , has already triggered the orange alert for the Gironde, Charente Maritime and also the Vendée. In total, 15 departments – mainly on the Atlantic coast – have been placed on alert.

The tide will be high in Vendée at 08:17 with a coefficient of 82.
The depression should then progress to Brittany and Normandy.
Stormy showers in Pays de la Loire
Heavy thunderstorms will also be expected. In the Loire Valley, cumulative local accumulations between 10 and 200 mm of rain are expected.
Vendée climate confirms these forecasts: the biggest of the depression is expected on the department in the morning, before moving away to the north. But the weather should remain restless until late afternoon.
