The vines touched by hail
On Saturday, the violent storms of hail that fell on the west facade caused many interventions by firefighters without casualties, and caused major damage in the vineyards of Bordeaux and Charente.
On Monday morning, in an unstable and humid atmosphere, thunderstorms will develop from the Massif Central and progress towards the northwest.
In the departments placed in orange vigilance, these storms will be able to give heavy precipitations and hail , with potential accumulations of the order of 40 to 50 mm in a short time. Despite some possible bursts, the wind will remain weak overall.
This orange alert for severe “storms” could be extended to a large part of the north of the country in the morning and evening, very rainy thunderstorms are expected with accumulations of the order of 40 to 50 mm in 1 to 2 hours.
