APL, RSA, Benefits… CAF Aid in April will be Paid Late, Here is When you will Receive it

Payment of CAF aid always arrives at the beginning of the month. But in April 2026, this payment will be several days late.

APL, RSA or even family allowances: if you are beneficiaries of one of these aids from the Family allowance fund, you know that it always arrives on the same date, at the beginning of the month. But for the month of April 2026, the payments will be several days late. It will even be the latest payment of the year.

A payment that is always made on the 5th

Every month, the CAF payment arrives the 5th of the month. For this month of April 2026, it should therefore have fallen on Sunday 5. But the payment is not made on the 5th if “this one shows up a Saturday or Sunday ”, precise CAF.

Except that the next day, Monday 6th April, is easter Monday. This public holiday therefore postpones the payment of social assistance by another day.

Please note that this year, in April, payment will be made on Tuesday 7th, due to Easter Monday on April 6th.

CAF

Thus, April is the only month of the year when payment is made on the 7th. Otherwise, aid arrives the latest in July, with payment on Monday 6th.

Other transfers also affected

CAF is not the only one affected by this disruption. Because all bank transfers made on Thursday 2nd April 2026 can only be executed Tuesday7th April 2026.

“Several payment settlement systems, which are operated by the European Central Bank (ECB), are closed on weekends and certain public holidays, notably this year around Easter”, explains the French Banking Federation.

This closure begins on “good Friday”, the 3rd April, and ends on Easter Monday, the 6th April, a public holiday throughout France. Between these two dates, the “Target 2” platform, used by European Union banks to transfer funds between them securely, suspends its operations.

Note that only traditional transfers are impacted. Instant transfers like Wero or transfers between accounts of the same bank are not affected.
