Ferrari Unveils its first 100% Electric Car with a Top Speed of 310 km/h

AUTO: It’s official, the new electric Ferrari will arrive at the end of 2026
The first Ferrari electric, planned for 2026, will be a four-seater coupe with more than 1,000 horsepower, promising a range of 530 kilometers, the brand announced Thursday.
Simply called “Elettrica”, this sports car will be aimed in particular at customers “who only want to drive electric cars but want to live the Ferrari experience, explained Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna during a presentation at his factory in Maranello.
No 100% electric turn yet
“It’s an addition (to the range), not a transition” to electric, said the boss of the Italian brand. Ferrari already sells almost half of its cars in hybrid versions but has yet to make the electric shift, several years later Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus or the very fast Rimac.
Ferrari management unveiled the architecture of the car on Wednesday evening, with a very low driving position in an aluminum chassis with a large engine on each wheel. The price of the car should be around 500,000 euros according to the manufacturer. The Elettrica promises to be fast (0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 310 km/h top speed) but the choice of a four-seater model places it behind some of its competitors.
The classic Ferrari controller on the steering wheel will be used on this model to choose between smooth or sporty driving, by modulating the power of the engines and the control of the suspensions. In memory of large gasoline engines, the Elettrica offers to simulate the downshifting of gears, but also to replace their roar with the amplified sound of the electric motor, to “give information” to the driver about road feel, explained Gianmaria Fulgenzi, product director at Ferrari.
“Stay competitive”
“It’s like choosing between a sailboat and a motorboat: both are exciting but in different ways”, Mr Fulgenzi added. The brand took on the costly internal development of the majority of technical innovations, particularly that of batteries, to “keep its know-how and remain competitive”, underlined Gianmaria Fulgenzi.
The final model must be presented in early 2026. Ferrari is due to give hundreds of investors and financial analysts invited to Maranello details on Thursday morning on its strategy for the years to come. This involves protecting its significant margins (23.4% net margin in the first half, or 837 million euros) in sectors of the automobile and luxury in full transformation.
