April 2025 was the fifth warmest month of April in France since measurements began in 1900, according to a point made by Meteo France on Wednesday 7th May 2025.
April 2025 has been the fifth hottest month of April in France since the beginning of measurements in 1900, especially on the northern part of the country where records of heat were beaten, announced on May 7th, 2025 Meteo France in a press briefing.
With 13.5 °C average over the month, the’temperature excess is + 1.7 degree compared to normal (over the reference period 1991-2020), notes the national weather forecaster.
Two heat episodes “abnormal” in April
Two episodes “abnormally hot” intervened at the beginning and end of April, during which the 25 °C were exceeded and the 30 °C almost reached in some places.
On April 30th record of night heat have been registered in some Breton cities like Quimper (Finistere) with 14.4 °C, or Arzal (Morbihan). This episode of early heat, with record high temperatures recorded in Paris (29.4 °C) or Lille (28.5 °C), has s’is extended until the 3rd May.
