The Dutch have qualified against Sweden (1-0) Wednesday 3rd July 2019 for the final of the womens world cup 2019, where they will face Team USA
They did it! The Dutch are offering their first Womens World Cup finals, against the formidable Americans. They hardly beat Sweden on Wednesday 3rd July 2019 in overtime (1-0), after a match of great poverty in Lyon.
The heroine of the evening is Jackie Groenen, 24, who scored the winner in the 99th minute, her first in the tournament. The defending European champions will challenge Sunday (5 pm) the United States, triple world champions, a task that looks difficult as they have pained Sweden.

This historic match for the Netherlands will leave little memories for lovers of the beautiful game. There is a chasm between this half and that of the previous day, spectacular, between the USA and England.
The first period was of a rare indigence, between balls directly sent in touch, faults and inability to chain the passes.
Et oui, les Néerlandaises joueront bien leur première finale de #FIFAWWC

A goalkeeper’s game
Only the Dutch goalkeeper Sari Van Veenendaal has distinguished herself by defeating the rare dangerous actions of the Swedes, including a point-blank ball by Lina Hurtig.
At the break, Lieke Martens, the star striker of the Dutch, long wounded on a toe, had to give way to Jill Roord.
Without too much brilliance, the second period was gently animated. Thanks to the Swedes first and a ball Nilla Fischer, pushed on her post by the guard Van Veenendaal, decidedly precious (56th).
Then the Dutch side with a corner then a header of Vivianne Miedema, deflected by Hedvig Lindahl on his bar (64th). This match will have at least confirmed the progress made by goalkeepers in recent years, which have long been portrayed as the Achilles’ heel of women’s football.
The entry of the Lyonnaise Shanice Van de Sanden (70th) brought speed right side, but again, the winger was beaten by Lindahl (90th).

Judo
So it was Jackie Groenen who delivered her homeland with a right foot shot (99th). A great story for a player who has just signed to Manchester United and who during her teenage years was rather searching for a career in judo.
Her goal allows the Netherlands to be once again the executioner of Sweden, as in the quarter-finals of Euro-2017 (2-0).
BUT BUT BUT BUT !!! ⚽️

The Euro championships at home, two years ago, will have been a click for the Orange selection. It sparked a real craze, as shown by the feast in the cities of France during this World Cup 2019, especially in Valenciennes, where a cohort of supporters had come to set the mood in the city.
“During the Euro, at home, nobody had high expectations. Then when we won, we rallied many supporters in the country. From there, everyone saw us as champions of the world, it put a lot of pressure on us, “said striker Vivianne Miedema on Monday, after the victory in the quarter against Italy (2-0).
“We did not play our best football in the first round, even though we won and we are on the right track,” she added.
On the level of play, the questions remain. But whatever. The Dutch are in the final, a first, and can dream of an unexpected feat against the United States. Who knows?
