Mother and child dragged under car in Seine-Maritime

Tuesday 9th April, an accident occurred in Saint-Romain-de-Colbosc. A mother and her child were injured after walking under a car whose handbrake was released.

A domestic accident that could have had serious consequences took place Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Saint-Romain-de-Colbosc (Seine-Maritime) . The hand brake of a car dropped and a mother and her child passed under it.

The car moves back on them

It is almost 9 o’clock when the accident occurs at an individual in Saint-Romain-de-Colbosc. A Citroën Xantia is then parked in the garage of the house.



The parking brake gives way, and the car moves back. The owner, a 27-year-old mother, and her two-and-a-half-year-old son are then in the vicinity of the vehicle.

According to a judicial source, “the child and his mother went under the vehicle”. When firefighters arrive, the boy suffers severe back pain and his mother is injured in the knee. Quickly taken care of, they are both transported to the hospital Jacques Monod.

The child and the mother are not seriously injured. Still according to a judicial source, “the son was plastered at the level of the right leg. ”
