Nantes: "Yellow Vests" Land on the Tarmac of the Airport 1

MOBILISATION: Fifty “yellow vests” were evacuated without incident from the Tarmac of Nantes airport …

Fifty “yellow vests” burst twice Saturday morning on the tarmac at Nantes Atlantique airport, said a photographer.

About 150 “yellow vests”, according to the police, had gathered in the morning on a roundabout near the airport, filtering cars before deciding to let them circulate.

A “free parking” operation organised

Some fifty protesters, most of them members of the activist group “Nantes Révoltée”, first flew in the middle of the morning hall 4 of the airport then managed to force a door and go to the edge of the tarmac, where they took a picture of themselves. On a photo posted on the Facebook account of the collective , we see them hooded and fist raised, with a sign on which we can read “Macron resignation”.

The small group then came out ten minutes later before returning to the tarmac shortly after 12 midday after tearing part of the fence surrounding the site, said a photographer. They then got closer to the planes before coming out again on their own.

No major incident

According to the prefecture of Loire-Atlantique, the second incident lasted only about ten minutes. “The protesters were quickly evacuated,” she said, adding that the traffic had to be interrupted for security reasons. There was no questioning.

Most of the “yellow vests” then headed for the city center of Nantes where a demonstration was planned in front of the prefecture. A dozen, however, remained on the roundabout leading to the airport, without blocking access.
