At different days of the strike at the SNCF we have distrupted traffic, but now another problem can be added for distrupted rail traffic in Brittany due to the weather. SNCF announces that from Monday 16th April and for a still indefinite duration, strong disturbances are expected on the axis Rennes-Saint-Malo .
Because of the rain
In question, the excess rains of the winter which made ascend “of clay against the ballast”, the bed of pebbles which supports the railroad. A situation, located in several places between Rennes and Montreuil-sur-Ille , “deforming the platform of the way,” says one to the SNCF.
Also, as a safety measure, the speed of trains will be reduced, thus causing delays:
- in the direction of Saint-Malo-Rennes, the trains will run with a delay of 10 to 15 minutes.
- in the direction Rennes-Saint-Malo, the trains will circulate with a delay of 20 to 30 minutes.
And since the speed will be reduced, it will also relieve traffic. Consequence: some trains will be deleted on this same route.
