Impressive work committed by Cargill in Saint-Nazaire

The former mayor wanted to see clear out to Montoir. But Cargill has every intention to stay in Saint-Nazaire. The sunflower oil plant is investing 11 million euros.

Cargill is not ready to leave  Saint-Nazaire . The sunflower crushing plant has invested 11 million euros in the modernization of its facilities.

The company had yet been there ten years persona non grata by the former mayor Joel Batteux that was its inadequate implementation in a neighborhood urbanizing.

The investment, therefore, marks the contrary the sustainability of the site adjacent to the submarine base.



It results in significant work to modernize its production.

The site director Fernando Yanguas explains the reasons for this site to 11 million.

“It will allow to produce additional 7 million litres of sunflower oil per year and for 20 to 30 years. We will also save 1000 kg of steam per year, equivalent to the domestic consumption of 400 people. “

The Cargill plant in Saint-Nazaire employs 60 people. It produces 40% of the national production of sunflower oil.
