PROPERTY: The sale of the chateau of La Garnache and surrounding land began in March.
The chateau of La Garnache (photo), its park, its dependence on the rest of the property is for sale for € 997,500 (agency fees included). A local consultation had proposed to the people that the town hall purchases the property had resulted in a massive “no” in April. A group of citizens has formed in June a consortium to buy the chateau for the town of the Vendée. Since then, nothing has moved.
The current property owner decided to entrust the sale of his estate to two new real estate agencies, Sotheby’s and the Mercury Group, both specializing in exceptional properties, mansions and luxury villas, even in international.
On the side of the city, one does not care: ” We have a lease of the park that runs until August 2020. In addition, we try to remind hypothetical buyers how the town is very attached to Heritage and history“, says the mayor, François Petit.
