Fishing and swimming prohibited in the Seine-Maritime

The rupture of a pipeline from the treatment plant Luneray, near Dieppe (Seine-Maritime), has resulted in water pollution. Shellfishing and swimming are prohibited between the beaches of Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer and Veules-les-Roses.

Following the accidental rupture of a pipeline from the treatment plant at Luneray, water pollution was recognized by the National Agency for Water and aquatic environments (Onema).

Starting this Wednesday, 28th September, 2016, the practice of swimming and boating activities of leisure on the beaches between Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer and Veules-les-Roses, and fishing for filtering shellfish (winkles and mussels ) are prohibited.

Health checks are being performed to determine the duration of the ban.
