The “backbone” of the Labour Law denounced

Philippe Martinez remained firm. “There are points of disagreement between the CGT and the Government on substantive matters, these disagreements were confirmed today,” he said, citing in particular “respect for the hierarchy of norms,” and holding that there was “no reason” to abandon mobilization days on 23rd and 28th June

For his part the Minister of Labour said not to have found “consensus”. “We have disagreements that are not new,” but “we had a constructive exchange, argued on this rule that we intend to give to the company agreement,” added the minister, noting that it would ” watch carefully “proposals submitted Friday by the CGT.

Irreconcilable positions?

The minister recently accused the CGT practice since March “politics of the empty chair” and had urged it to “make proposals.” But the positions seem irreconcilable.Philippe Martinez denounces items composing the “backbone” of labour law: reversal of the hierarchy of norms, redundancy, enterprise referendum, development agreement and occupational medicine.
