We were at the market in Martigné-Ferchaud (35) earlier today and although it is only a small market, consisting of the usual fruit and Veg, Fishmonger, Butcher, Cheese van and the usual Galette/Crepe Van, it has a very good feel to it, better than some of the larger markets, with a loyal following of locals who seem appreciative that the market is here, and they support it as well which is good to see.
After we had set up, we were just have a quick coffee break when at about 10 am, a van suddenly arrived and out got this man and started to unload a bed base and a couple of matresses, for demonstration purposes. I was amazed that he had turned up so late, as normally at the smaller markets you arrive at 8 am to start setting up. But what made me laugh, was that after an hour at 11 am he just packed up and disappeared. I have never seen that happen before.
I managed to take some photos to give you an idea of what it is like, and if you pop along one Friday morning, you might bump into our stall, although we don’t go every Friday as we normally alternate between 3 to 4 different markets on a Friday.
