Rennes: A Man Suspected of Radicalisation Arrested

A man from Rennes has been arrested on suspicion of radicalisation

This Saturday, the police intervened in the raid of an apartment in Rennes, near the eastern cemetery in Rennes. The occupant was arrested in Saint-Malo.

Since the beginning of the afternoon on Saturday, the Auguste-Pavie street, in the eastern cemetery area, Rennes, is sealed off by the police. With the help of an elite unit of the anti-terrorist unit “RAID”, the police raided the home of a man suspected of religious radicalism.

At 4pm the police were still on site, to search the apartment. Nantes bomb disposal team have also planned to visit the scene.

According to first reports, it is a neighbour who would have alerted the police, at 1.30pm.  Investigators are on site to learn more.

That the occupant was arrested Saturday afternoon in St. Malo.  Investigations were continuing in the late afternoon to his home where weapons or explosives were only discovered
