Wednesday morning, the departments of Haute-Garonne and Tarn were placed on orange alert for strong winds by Météo-France.

The end of the warning alert is scheduled for Wednesday at 10pm, said Meteo France, which announces “a wind event particularly strong, deserving special vigilance ”

“The southerly wind got up in the night and has continued to strengthen.  At 4am this morning we measured wind speeds of102 km/h in Saint-Felix-Lauragais (Haute-Garonne) and 103 km/h in Castres (Tarn) ” , says Meteo France.

Gusts over 100 km/h

“On Wednesday, during the day, the southerly wind gusts will become increasingly violent. This morning, they exceed 100 km/h on the Lauragais, Castres and the Black Mountain; late afternoon they will reach 110 to 120 km/h and they slightly exceed 100 km/h on the Toulouse plain before weakening in the first part of next night ” , according to forecasters.
