CAF: APL revalued from 1st October 2025, here is the Increase Planned for Beneficiaries
Personalized housing assistance follows the evolution of the rent reference index (IRL) for the 2nd quarter of the year. If this increases, so does this social assistance.
Family allowances. RSA, prime d’activité … On the 1st April 2025, several aids from CAF had been revalued at 1.7%. With only a few months left before closing 2025, a new change awaits them beneficiaries.
On the 1st October 2025, these are the personalized housing assistance (APL) which will be revalued, confirms the Ministry of Solidarity, through a article from the French administration published this Wednesday September 24, 2025.
span>This is a (small) little boost this time for beneficiaries, after + 3.26% last October.
An increase in APL of 1.04%
Indeed, on October 1, 2025, APL will therefore increase by 1.04%, “unless otherwise decided by the government”, notes the French administration website. This may not seem like much compared to last year, but this percentage does not come out of nowhere, recalls the Caisse nationale d’allocations familiales (CNAF).
“This is a revaluation which takes place each year, on October 1, according to the evolution of the rent reference index (IRL) for the 2nd quarter of the current year”, monitored each year by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee). INSEE thus estimated that the IRL had evolved (unsurprisingly) by +1.04% over the year.
In the second quarter of 2025, the rent benchmark stood at 146.68. Over one year, it increased by 1.04% after +1.40% in the previous quarter.
Consequence: l‘APL is expected to increase by 1.04% as of October 1, 2025.
Visible on the November 1 payment
If it is a (small) overall revaluation, the amount of the APL varies depending on the beneficiary. “For each beneficiary, the level of revaluation of the APL depends in particular on their city of residence, their family situation and their resources”, specifies the CAF.
The increase in the APL is applied automatically by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA). Check on your online account that the revaluation has been taken into account and that the updated amount has been paid. If you have a problem updating the amount, contact your CAF or MSA.
Please note that these new amounts are valid from October 1, 2025, but will only be observable during the next payment. According to the calendar defined by CAF for the year 2025, we are talking about the payment of November 5, 2025.
