A motorist who was driving on the RN 137 at Puceul (Loire-Atlantique) was stopped by the gendarmes for speeding, driving without a license and without insurance.

The biker gendarmerie Nozay (Loire-Atlantique) intercepted, Friday, November 15, 2019, a motorist for speeding circulating on the RN 137, the Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) -Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).

The man, a 39-year-old man from Nantes, was caught at 149 km/h, which is 39 km/h above the authorized limit.

A passenger by her side

Arrested at Puceul (Loire-Atlantique), the driver was also no longer a holder of his driver’s license, cancelled for 10 years, reports the police on their Facebook page.

What also prevented him from buying a car “that he obviously could not secure and drive with a passenger by his side”.

Summoned to the Criminal Court

Without a profession, he is currently in a  state of legal recidivism for “having already committed identical facts in 2016”, specify the gendarmes.

In fact, his vehicle was confiscated and the man will have to answer for his behavior before the Nantes Criminal Court in 2020.

What is the risk of driving without a license and without insurance?

Be aware that driving without a license or insurance is a crime. The penalty incurred for the lack of a license is one-year imprisonment and 15,000 euros fine. The vehicle can be immobilized and impounded immediately, it can be confiscated if the driver owns it. For driving without insurance, this time, the penalty is a fine of 3,750 euros, which can be accompanied by additional penalties such as the suspension or cancellation of the license, with the ban on ironing, and the confiscation of the vehicle. In both cases, in case of repeated behaviour, the penalties are increased (up to 2 years imprisonment and 30 000 euros fine for driving without a license and up to 7 500 euros fine for driving without insurance). © Source: road -safety.gouv .
