Lewis Hamilton nearly replaced bu Esteban Ocon for weekend formula 1 race

The Normandy driver Esteban Ocon could have been at the start of the German Grand Prix this weekend. Lewis Hamilton being feverish, it was considered that the Briton does not participate in the race.

Lewis Hamilton could have shone … by his absence this weekend, in Hockenheim. The Brit seems to be in the wrong form since the beginning of the German Formula 1 meeting, and would indeed be seized. According to Canal +, the Briton could even have been replaced by the team’s reserve driver, who is none other than … Normandy driver Esteban Ocon.

The Frenchman was not far from driving since everything was close at Mercedes (bucket and settings) to accommodate him in the white and grey car, which would be passed from bib # 44 to # 31, for the occasion.

As a reminder, Esteban Ocon is currently a Mercedes reserve driver, after two seasons at Force India. He is expected to return to F1 next season. Rumours are currently leading him to Renault, Haas or Mercedes Racing Point.
