Gas, wages … What changes from October 1st

Gas prices rise in October

Assistance to cover childcare costs will be more important for single-parent families and jobless contributions disappear on the payroll. Here is everything that changes from Monday, October 1st.

A financial boost for single-parent families, rising gas prices , the disappearance of employee contributions for unemployment insurance : here are some changes that will affect the lives of French people from October 1st to the beginning of November.

Childcare expenses

The ceiling of the supplement free choice of the mode of guard (CMG), allowance paid to the parents who resort to a mode of individual reception for the care of their child of less than six years, will be revaluated of 30% from October 1 for the single-parent families. This measure will allow all parents who raise one or more young children alone to be better aided financially when they use a maternal assistant, a home care or a micro-nursery. Depending on the family configurations, the number of hours of care and the amount of family income, monthly assistance may increase up to 250 euros per month.

Gas prices

Regie’s regulated gas tariffs for 4.5 million households will increase by an average of 3.25% in October. The increase will be 1% for gas users for cooking, 3.3% for those who use this energy for heating, and 2% for users who make a dual use cooking and heating. This is the sixth consecutive month of growth.

Employee contributions

Wage premiums for unemployment insurance, which rose from 2.4% to 0.95% in January, disappear completely on 1 October, which will result in a rise in the net salary received at the end of the month. The decline in the January unemployment insurance contribution, as well as the removal of the health insurance contribution on that date, was offset by a 1.7 point increase in the CSG’s overall income. The increase in wages actually received by employees will therefore be greater at the end of October than at the end of January.

The dematerialized public markets The dematerialization of the public markets becomes obligatory as of October 1st. In concrete terms, companies or associations that compete for a public contract worth more than € 25,000, excluding taxes, will have to send their application and their requests for information electronically. The letters of attribution or rejection will also be transmitted dematerialized by buyers. Following the award of a contract, the electronic signature will replace the handwritten signature at the end of a transition period to allow companies to equip themselves with an electronic signature certificate.

And on November 1st: social minimums rise

The allowance for adults with disabilities (AAH), which benefits more than 1.1 million people, must increase by 41 euros, from 819 to 860 euros per month on November 1, 2018. The government announced that it would range in late 2019 to 900 euros, an increase of 40 euros additional.

The activity bonus, assistance to modest workers (up to 1300 euros) received by 2.66 million households, should increase up to 20 euros per month from 1 November.
