Big problems on the rail network due to SNCF Strike

The SNCF strike continues, causing many problems on the rail network. TGVs and TERs are affected everywhere in France on the day of the opening of the baccalaureate exams.

Two TGV out of three will circulate Sunday 17th June 2018 in the context of the 16th episode of strike at the SNCF, announced the management in a statement on Saturday, also providing one TER in two.

SNCF also anticipates three out of five Transilien, two Intercités out of five and three international trains out of four, on the 31st day of SNCF strike since early April at the call of four unions of railwaymen.

In detail, in the Paris region traffic will be normal on the RER A while it will take a train on two on the northern part of the RER B. On its southern part, the traffic will be normal but limited to the station of Orsay-Ville. One out of two trains will be provided on the RER C, as on the RER D (north and south).

For TGVs, four out of five trains will be provided on the East axis , three out of four on the Southeast and Atlantic axes ,one out of two on the North axis and one out of four only for intersector links (which do not pass by a Paris station).

Four out of five Ouigo trains will run.


Special provisions for baccalaureate candidates

For international trains, the traffic will be normal for Eurostar as well as for Germany and Spain, and almost normal for Thalys . However, it will take two Lyria trains out of three and only one train out of three to Italy .

This 16th episode of the SNCF strike against the reform of the SNCF will continue on Monday, day of the exam of philosophy in the BAC.The management has put in place a system guaranteeing the circulation of trains most likely to be borrowed by the candidates, and will also charter replacement buses.

This episode of strike action will end Tuesday just before 8am.
