The national hunting license should increase from 400 to 200 euros. This drop in the price of the license is part of a reform of hunting announced by Emmanuel Macron, as reported by Le Figaro .
During a meeting at the Elysee, on February 15, 2018 , the President of the Republic and the President of the National Federation of Hunters, Willy Schraen, opened the site of this reform.
Attract young people
According to the FNC , hunting would be practiced by 1.1 million people in France. Yet only 8% of them are in possession of a national permit and 86% have a departmental permit. The latter allows practice only in the department in which it was issued. Its cost is 150 euros.
The FNC hopes that this drop in the price of the national permit will allow young hunters to acquire one to be more mobile in the territory.
A reform of the hunt
The FNC has made other wishes such as the simplification of the permit (to spend two days rather than four). The federation also wants to implement cash quotas or increase the number of environmental police funded in part by the world of hunting.
If the government fullfils its commitment, this drop in the permit price should be recorded in the Autumn 2018 budget law . It would be implemented as of July 1st, 2019.
