The National Assembly voted on Saturday by 65 votes against 14, of one of the key measures of the 2018 budget, removing in three years, Taxe d’Habitation to 80% of households, despite criticism right and left.
Campaign promise of Emmanuel Macron, the reform of the housing tax will begin with a first down 30% in 2018 and 65% in 2019 and 100% in 2020 for the households concerned. This will represent a cost of 3 billion euros next year and 6.6 billion euros and 10.1 billion in 2020.

But many elected LR are on the frontlines to denounce a “guardianship communities”, expressing particular concern that the “full” compensation promised by the state is not sustainable.
The left has also pointed to a risk of “disillusionment” of the French on their purchasing power and a “false good idea” that will “dig territorial inequalities.”
