La Poste announce Price of Stamps and Packages will Increase nearly 7% at the Start of 2027

La Poste announced that the price of parcels and stamps would increase at the start of 2027, including an increase of almost 10% for the Green Letter.

La Poste, the french post office announced this Monday 27th July, 2026 an increase of 6.73% the price of stamps and parcels on average at the start of 2027, including an increase of almost 10% for the Green Letter for everyday shipments, which will increase to 1.67 euros compared to 1.52 today.

The public group justifies this increase in postage rates by the need “to ensure the sustainability of the universal postal service with high quality”, while the continued decline in the number of letters transported has reduced La Poste’s revenues for years.

New prices from the beginning of 2027

In detail, here are the increases planned for all the different products The post office.

The price of the 20 g Green Letter, for everyday shipments, will amount to 1.67 euros in 2027, compared to 1.52.
The price of the Service Letter plus 20 g, for the most important document shipments requiring follow-up notifications, will be 3.67 euros compared to 3.47.
The price of the red e-letter (3 sheets), for urgent shipments distributed the next day, will be 1.70 euros compared to 1.60 in 2026.
The price of the 20 g Registered Letter will increase to 6.47 euros compared to 6.11 currently.
The price of the 20 g International Letter will be 2.45, compared to 2.25 today. This unique rate will allow customers to send their letters to all countries in the world.
The price of the “tracking” label, a solution which allows individual customers to have information on the distribution of all their letters bearing this “sticker”, will remain at 0.50 euros.

Colissimo sent by individuals will increase on average by 4.1% in 2027 for shipments to mainland France and internationally.

Packages shipped between mainland France and overseas will see a 5% reduction in prices, following on from the reduction already applied in 2026.

As of the 1st January 2026, the postage price for mail and parcels had already increased on average by 7.4%, including an increase of 9.35% for the green letter for everyday shipments.

Last week, La Poste had already announced that some stamps were no longer going to be valid for life from the 16th September. This is the case for printable stamps purchased via the My Online Stamp service which will now be valid for six months from their date of purchase.
