RAM Rampage: An American Pick-Up in European Format

AUTO: The RAM brand is synonymous with oversized pickups and large V8 engines. Models that find some success in our regions

At 5.02 m long, the RAM Rampage seems much more suited to our European conditions than the large 1,500. However, it was not developed for the Old Continent, but for the Brazilian market, where it was launched in 2023.

It is not positioned as a direct competitor to the Ford Tidy up Volkswagen Amarok and Toyota Hilux: it is aimed more at leisure customers than work customers. It is also based on a platform shared with the SUV Jeep Compass.

The manufacturer promises driving comfort close to a sedan thanks to its multi-link suspensions and a neat interior dominated by a large 12.3-inch touch screen.

Two engines, the same ambition

This does not prevent it from demonstrating real practical skills, with a payload of one tonne and a 980 liter skip capable of accommodating a Euro-pallet.

Under the hood, two options: a 200 hp 2.0 Hurricane petrol unit or a 272 hp 2.2 Multijet turbodiesel, both coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Consumption, emissions and prices remain to be specified, as does its approval category. Product at Brazil, RAM Rampage is expected in Europe during 2026.
