Fire on a Farm near Châteaubriant: 6 Cows Died

Friday 7th November 2025, a fire broke out in an agricultural building in Nozay, near Châteaubriant. Despite the intervention of firefighters, at least six cows died in the flames.
On Friday 7th November 2025, a fire broke out at midday in an agricultural building located at a place called Le Grand Perray, south of the small town of Nozay, not far from the market town of Châteaubriant (Loire-Atlantique).

No less than 23 firefighters intervened on site, with five fire vehicles including an aerial ladder, two animal risk specialists and two command vehicles.
The building housed 250 tonnes of fodder and around forty cattle. Unfortunately, at least six heifers died in the fire. Much of the fodder also went up in smoke.
