Tobacco: Here are all Cigarette Prices from 1st September 2025

After an increase last June, French customs communicated the new tobacco prices from the 1st September 2025.

What will be the tobacco prices for this school year? The new prices for cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco as of September 1, 2025 french customs were communicated during the month of August.

For this school year, price increases do not concern all smokers. Only certain references of cigarillos and cigars show a slightly increased price. Or even much more. This is the case of the Flor de Selva Botte SAL1, in 10 cigars, which go from 21 euros to… 43 euros, that is an increase of 105%.

Stable prices

According to the list of new prices published in mid-August, no brands of cigarettes or hand-rolling tobacco is in any case not affected by an increase in prices tobacco at the start of the school year. Last June, the price of certain packages had increased considerably.

Around ten new references

However, we are seeing the upcoming arrival of new references on tobacco shop displays: eleven products should be approved by the French authorities.

When will there be the next increase?

According to the customs calendar, the next price adjustment could take place on the 1st November 2025. This year, in total, five price adjustments have already been made.
To combat smoking, the government plans to increase the price of the package to 13 euros by 2027.

According to a 2024 Public Health France study, tobacco causes the death of 75,000 people per year.
