95 calories per 100 grams. The ratio of banana can seem huge. However, the calorie content of this fruit is primarily related to its richness in natural sugars . These simple carbohydrates are easily assimilated by the body. They also allow the muscles to refuel after prolonged effort.

Tasted in moderation, the banana does not cause any weight gain. It is even the ally of athletes , at the end of their training , thanks to its high potassium content .

Contrary to popular belief, bananas contribute to the proper balance of the intestinal flora. For over 12,000 years, it has been helping digestion of babies, adults and the elderly.

Its soft and sweet flesh contains specific fibres that preserve the health of microorganisms in the intestine. Result: boosted immune defences and … a more regular transit.

All these nutritional qualities are shared by both the fresh banana and the dried version.

Our recipe idea: frozen banana sticks from Guadeloupe & Martinique

For 4 people: 1 banana from Guadeloupe & Martinique, 2 tbsp. orange juice, ½ lime, 300 g Greek yoghurt and 3 tbsp. honey.

In the blender jar, put the roughly cut banana, orange juice and lemon juice. Mix until a homogeneous preparation is obtained.

In a bowl, combine yoghurt and honey. Alternate layers of yoghurt and banana mixture in stick molds. Place in the freezer.

After one hour, plant wooden or plastic sticks in the mixture and return the molds to the freezer for at least 3 hours. Pass the mussels under a little hot water to unmold the sticks. Store in the freezer in an airtight box.
