Peugeot presents its new 208 which will be the big star of the Geneva Motor Show, from March 7th. It is offered with three possible energies: electric, petrol or diesel.
From the first glance, this new generation of Peugeot 208 is confirmed by its sharp design, infusing youth and energy .
Built from the latest generation of PSA platform, the CMP (Common Modular Platform), it allows the choice between different types of engines: thermal (petrol or diesel) or electric . This new platform contributes to limiting the CO2 emissions of the new Peugeot 208 thanks to its lightening of 30 kg and the improvement of its aerodynamics. It also offers a level of comfort and increased security.
136 hp for the e-208
The big news at Peugeot will be a 100% electric engine proposed at the launch of the new 208, a power of 100 kW (136 hp) and a torque of 260 Nm (available from 0 km / h) for responsiveness immediate and a 0 to 100 km / h in 8”1. The e-208 will offer three modes of driving: eco, normal and sport. The habitability and volume of trunk (220 liters) will be identical to the thermal version.
450 km of autonomy
The battery pack will be distributed under the floor of the 208. With a capacity of 50 kWh, it will achieve a range of up to 340 km according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Protocol (WLTP) and 450 km according to the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle).
This battery will be guaranteed 8 years or 160 000 km for 70% of its load capacity. The modes of loading will be flexible and adapted to every day situation. Among other things, from a dedicated public terminal, the thermal regulation of the battery will make it possible to use 100 kW chargers and to reach 80% of the charge in 30 minutes.
